Shaldon is directly across the estuary from the neighbouring town of Teignmouth,
which can be accessed either by bridge or by foot ferry across the river. The
market town of Newton Abbot is about 5 miles away and the attractive cathedral
city of Exeter is within half an hour’s car or train journey. Both Newton Abbot
and Teignmouth are on the mainline between London and Penzance, and Exeter International
Airport is convenient for trips further afield. With it’s quaint winding streets
within the village and the constantly changing vista of the river and the sea
- so it is no wonder that it is one of South Devon’s best kept secrets.
directions

Shaldon is approximately 5 miles from the A380 between Exeter and Torquay.
From the A380 at Kingsteignton, take the A381 signposted Teignmouth. Follow
this road for approximately 3.5 miles to traffic lights, from where a right
turn should be taken onto the Teignmouth and Shaldon Bridge, which crosses the
River Teign. Oystercatcher Court can be found on the right hand side shortly
after leaving the bridge on the Shaldon side of the river.
