Top rated local house builder Devonshire Homes are celebrating another double success after scooping two coveted NHBC Seals of Excellence Awards and for a second year running became the Regional Winner in the medium category for the NHBC Pride in the Job awards at a ceremony held at Weston-super-Mare on 16 October.

The Pride in the Job awards are the 'Oscars' of the new house-building industry and to have reached the final stages both Frankie Walsh and Nick Bateman have already beaten off competition from 13,000 site managers across the UK to win an NHBC Pride in the Job Quality Award.

On the day both Frankie and Nick were amongst just Sixteen site Managers to win a 'Seal of Excellence' for displaying exceptional site management skills and building the best quality new homes.

From the sixteen Nick Bateman was selected, for a second year running, as the Regional Winner of the Medium category and will now go forward to represent Devonshire Homes and the NHBC South West, in the national "Supreme Pride in the Job" grand final in London in January.

The award for Nick Bateman at Moorhayes Park follows on from the success of 2008 when he was also the Regional winner. Nick comments "Building on from the success of 2008 has been very satisfying and I am delighted to be representing Devonshire Homes again at the National Final in January"

In addition to the continued success at Moorhayes Park Frankie Walsh, site Manager at Oystercatcher Court in Shaldon, also won a Seal of Excellence Award. Frankie says "I am extremely proud to have won a Seal of Excellence, this has been a challenging development and it is nice to have recognition not only for myself but for all those involved"

The NHBC set up its 'Pride in the Job' competition 29 years ago to seek the UK's best Site Managers. The drive for quality is at the heart of the NHBC's 'Pride in the Job' and is an integral part of its role in helping to raise the standards for new home buyers.

Paul Land, Managing Director at Devonshire Homes, said "To win two Seal of Excellence Awards was fantastic in itself but for Nick to be the Regional winner for a second year running is exceptional as it reinto the awards. Recognises building the best quality new homes and managing their sites to an exceptional standard"

Paul added "This is a very well knwon national award, synonymous with quality and our home owners all over Devon should feel delighted that they have bought a Devonshire Home"

The competition is rigorous with 13,000 site managers across the UK entered into the awards. In addition each site manager is assessed over 12 months to gauge an accurate view of how they manage their site and the overall quality and finish of the new homes.
