Local Independent Housebuilder Invests in a Trio of New Appointments

13 December 2016

West Country house builder Devonshire Homes has appointed three new recruits to join its growing team of talented and highly qualified staff at its head office in Tiverton.

The local independent house builder has launched three new homes developments this year in Cullompton, Chulmleigh, and most recently in Bovey Tracey. To support the Devonshire Homes’ ambitious growth plans, its three new employees bring a varied skill set to the company, as their roles span Quantity Surveying, Technical and Customer Service departments. The house builder specialises in providing homes which reflect the traditional characteristics and building styles of the region combined with high specification, contemporary interiors.

Thomas Butler relocated to the West Country after working at Runnymede Homes and Rushmon Homes, and joins Devonshire Homes as Quantity Surveyor:

“After working in the house building industry in Surrey for 10 years, I was really pleased to move to Devon and work for a more local, family owned company as opposed to working for a big PLC. I’m delighted to be a part of helping Devonshire Homes grow as a company in terms of output and recognition, and set the benchmark for other house builders in the South West.”

The company has also taken on Jodie Watson as Customer Service Co-ordinator, who previously worked at Magna West Somerset Housing Association for 12 years as Repairs Officer and Project Implementer among other roles. Jodie is experienced in working behind the scenes to improve the standard of service being given:

“It’s great to join a company that already has so many happy customers! I look forward to continuing the company’s reputation for excellent customer service keeping customers well-informed with one of their most important purchases.”

Its third new recruit is Keith Stockwell who was previously Technical Design Manager at Strongvox Homes Ltd, and joins Devonshire Homes as Technical Co-ordinator with over 37 years of industry experience:

“I had always known of Devonshire Homes as a premium house builder, so I was delighted when an opportunity came up to join the business. I’m looking forward to continued exciting times in a buoyant industry with a forward thinking and innovative independent developer.”

Devonshire Homes employs over 40 people from its head office in Tiverton and has been creating new homes and communities in towns and rural areas across Devon since 1992. Jane Pearce, Sales and Marketing Director at Devonshire Homes commented:

“We’re at a very exciting stage in our expansion so we’re thrilled to appoint three experienced professionals to help us achieve our business goals. We’d like to extend a very warm welcome to Thomas, Jodie and Keith and look forward to working with them on a number of new projects in the pipeline.”

Devonshire Homes is currently selling homes at Rivel’s Green in Cullompton, Ladywell Meadows in Chulmleigh, Kilnwood in Kingsteignton, The Tors in Bovey Tracey, and Westaway Reach in Barnstaple.
