Three of life’s biggest milestones for Crediton couple

5 July 2019

For many, life’s major milestones tend to happen over the course of a decade or two but not for Sean and Lucy Beggs. These Devonshire Home owners experienced an extremely busy 2018 by getting married, moving into a new house and welcoming a baby boy into the world!

On the hunt for a house to cater for their expanding family, Sean, 28, and Lucy, 30, decided to move to Devonshire Homes’ Crediton site, Tarka View, after falling in love with the three bedroom Webb house type.

“We chose Tarka View because of the beautiful setting” said Sean. “I work in Exeter, so it is an ideal location to live in for my commute and we absolutely love Crediton. We decided to buy a house with Devonshire Homes after conducting some research into all the major house builders. Devonshire Homes had some great reviews. We read through the customer testimonials to get an idea of what the buying journey is like with the independent house builder. I couldn’t find anything negative written about the company, it was all very positive.”

With two children, now aged nine and one, the couple were looking for a home that offered more space and was well equipped for family life.

“We chose the Webb house type because it suited our family set up. We’ve got two kids now and it benefitted us to have that extra space. The open plan living / dining area is ideal for the children to spread out and play” said Sean. “It’s going to sound cliché, but I love everything about our new home. The garden is ideal and the bedroom sizes are generous. Our baby has just turned one now so even our third bedroom accommodates to his needs. We have a lovely en-suite master bedroom and a massive front room where we can relax as a family. There’s nothing I dislike about the house at all. We absolutely love it!”

Having moved from the nearby village of Morchard Bishop, the family were already familiar with the area. Located less than seven miles away from Exeter, Crediton has a lot to offer including outstanding local schools, a superstore and a variety of eateries.

“We love the location” said Sean. “You’re not living right in the middle of the town but you’re still close by to enjoy all the local amenities. Tarka View is on the edge of Crediton so you aren’t bothered by any traffic or loud noises from the streets. Everyone in our neighbourhood is really nice and there’s a good community feel about the place. We haven’t had any issues and the construction team who continue to work on phase two of Tarka View have not been disruptive at all.”

Devonshire Homes has been awarded ‘Outstanding in Customer Satisfaction’ by InHouse Research for three years running and the Biggs’ certainly experienced this.

“Our Sales Executives went above and beyond for us” said Sean. “They were awesome. They answered any questions we had and helped us through a couple of hitches we had with our solicitors. For us, having such young kids, we didn’t want too much hassle when going through the buying process and on moving day itself but everything went smoothly. The baby was only a few weeks old on the day we moved but we had the grandparents on hand to help so it was alright in the end!”

“We would 100% recommend Devonshire Homes to other house hunters” concluded Sean. “In fact, we already have done! My brother is looking at buying a home at Tarka View as well so that will be ideal to have him close by.”
