Nursery site plans unvieled
Monday, 28 June 2010 14:41

Over 70 people attended a consultation event held at Cullompton Town Hall to view initial plans developed by award winning Tiverton based Devonshire Homes for the Cummings Nursery site.
Three potential options for the way the site, which currently features a number of derelict greenhouses, could be developed with a range of new homes were placed on display for comment and discussion. Steve Russell, Devonshire Homes' Land and Planning Director, who is leading the project, said:
"We hope that local people found yesterday's event helpful and I would like to thank those that took the time to discuss our draft proposals with us. We consider that the development of the site with new homes presents a logical step, removing a visual detraction and a temptation for vandalism from the area while helping to meet local housing needs. The feedback that we receive from the community will help us develop our thinking in respect of the proposals over the coming weeks.
Steve added:
"We find that events such as the one held yesterday prove extremely helpful in aiding understanding on both sides and I look forward to discussing the next incarnation of the plans with local people in due course. I would also encourage anyone that has further questions or comments to get in touch with us via our information line"
Feedback from the exhibition will be considered by Devonshire Homes as it develops the plan further prior to holding a second exhibition later in the year.
