Plans Move forward for Bampton School

Having held the second of its two consultation events at St Michael's Hall on Thursday 18th November in support of its proposals for the former Bampton School site, Devonshire homes are now targeting a pre-Christmas submission of its plans.
The plans for the site, which has been identified by Mid Devon District Council for residential use, would see the firmer school developed with a mix of 34 two, three and four bedroom homes, including affordable housing. Devonshire Homes will now be reviewing the latest feedback following Thursday's event ahead of finalising its proposals.
Steve Russell, Devonshire Homes' Land and Planning Director, who is responsible for the project, said:
"Our second event again proved extremely worthwhile and enabled us to discuss and receive comments on the proposals developed for the site. We would welcome any further feedback that local people may have following our second exhibition. As before, we'll be reviewing all comments received prior to completing our design and planning work".
Steve added
"We are, therefore, pleased with the progress that we have made to date and the team is now focused on finalising the proposals ahead of moving forward with a planning application. However, I would like to thank all those that have taken the time to participate in our consultaion activity as local feedback has been invaluable in helping shape the plans for this important site"
With the Tiverton firm now aiming to lodge formal plans with the council prior to the Christmas break, it is hoped that a decision will be reached by early spring. If the green light is given to the plans at this time, Devonshire Homes hopes to start work on site immediately.
