Witheridge AFC Comes to Light!

Devonshire Homes are the proud sponsors of Witheridge AFC.


Award winning local house builer Devonshire Homes are proud sponsors of Witheridge AFC and on 25 September attended the first evening football match under the new flood lights!



Although Witheridge play in the South West Peninsula League the first flood lit match was a Throgmorton Cup 1st round match against Exeter Civil Service.  Following a grant from the FA and enormous efforts from numerous local people the completion of the flood lights has been made possible.  The evening proved to be a resounding success and culminated in a 2-1 win for Witheridge.



Devonshire Homes are currently building new homes in Broomhouse Park, Witheridge and when contacted by the chairman, Andre Pike, to help support the football team were only too pleased to help.



Paul Land, Managing Director for Devonshire Homes comments " Devonshire Homes have been supporting Witheridge AFC since the 2007/2008 season and continued this through to the 2008/2009 season and now we are delighted to be the main sponsors for 2009/2010.  As the main sponsor we have already handed over a  cheque, which is the first instalment, for £2,250,this has enabled the team to purchase a new match strip, training kit and polo shirts.  In addition we have supplied subsoil to enable the club to complete work on their additional pitches"  he went onto comment "We always look to support the community within which we are developing and hope our sponsorship will make a difference."
