Location

Shaldon is a quaint, unspoilt and picturesque village situated at the mouth of the River Teign in South Devon.

With the rolling countryside to the south and west, sea and river to the north and east, Shaldon really does have it all.

The vibrant and thriving community is home to a wide range of local shops as well as a very successful primary school, a number of pubs and cafes, a post office and Doctor’s surgery. The strong sense of community is evident from the wide variety of the many events taking place throughout the year.

Shaldon is directly across the estuary from neighbouring Teignmouth, the market town of Newton Abbot is just 5 miles away and the Cathedral City of Exeter is within half an hour’s car or train journey. Teignmouth also lies on the main train line between London and Penzance.

Directions

Shaldon is approximately 5 miles from the A380 between Exeter and Torquay. From the A380 at Kingsteignton, take the A381 signposted Teignmouth. Follow this road for approximately 3.5 miles to traffic lights, from where a right turn should be taken onto the Teignmouth and Shaldon Bridge, which crosses the River Teign. Oystercatcher Court can be found on the right hand side shortly after leaving the bridge on the Shaldon side of the river.
